Here's "Flashpoint", starring Enrico Colantoni (Keith Mars on "Veronica
Mars"). This is a CTV show that CBS has bought. This CTV web page has
it starting July 11 on CTV, and I think that that's when it will be on
CBS, too.

Here's "The Listener", bought by NBC.

The impression I get is that, rather than being co-productions with the
U.S. networks, with the U.S. people calling the shots on how the show
will be made (like the first season of "Due South" was), both shows have
been financed exclusively in Canada, and the U.S. networks are simply
buying already existing shows. So, they will both be actually set in
Toronto, rather than pretending to be New York or Chicago, or whatever.

I haven't seen very much promotional material for either show.
Interestingly, I did see a promo spot on CBS on Saturday (May 24) for
"Flashpoint", but I haven't yet noticed anything on CTV.

Yep, confirmed on CBS's press site:

And scheduled for Summer 2009. (Yes, 2009!)

That is my impression as well.

BTW, this other page on CTV's site:

http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/show/CTVShows/20080129/flashpoint_pickedup_080129/20080129/

brags about "Flashpoint" being the first Canadian show since
"Due South" to air in U.S. primetime.

Sheesh. The last I heard, "The Listener" was going to be on NBC this
fall. Oh, well. Actually, it's a little vague to me just how soon this
show will be made. Allegedly, there's a pilot movie that was made last
year, but I don't think it's been broadcast, and I don't know if they're
making the series so that it will be ready for the fall.

Hmm. I'm not sure that that's entirely true. "Mysterious Ways",
starring Adrian Pasdar, was a co-production between CTV and the PAX
channel (I think), and, if I'm not mistaken, some episodes of it were
simultaneously broadcast on NBC. This would have been around 2000 or
2001, I think.

Oh, by the way, Hugh Dillon, one of the stars of "Flashpoint", has a
"Due South" connection. He was the main guy in the rock band The
Headstones, and their song "It's All Over" is on, um, "Free Willy", I
think. Also, Hugh co-starred with Callum Keith Rennie in the movie
"Hard Core Logo".
