On Friday, Paul was interviewed on the CBC Radio show "Q". He talked
about "Gunless" and the live audience sings "Happy Birthday" to him.

Click on this:

Then go to Friday April 30 and click on the podcast link. I forget how
long it is until Paul comes on.

His interview starts just after the halfway mark.

Thanks for the heads-up on this, Ed!

And I'd be curious to read reviews from anyone who sees the
movie. It certainly doesn't look very promising from the
trailer.

And, although "Q" is a radio show, they also have cameras there and you
can see the visuals to go with a lot of the interviews. Go to QTV at
Youtube.

I didn't spot Paul's new interview about "Gunless", but I think you can
find his older one about "Passchendaele". "Q" is the show that had that
infamous confrontation with Billy Bob Thornton a few months ago, and you
can find the video for that here.

On another discussion group, a few people have seen it and seem to like
it, but some admit that the movie is kind of tepid. Based on the clips
I've seen, it looks like it's that overly self-conscious "This is Canada
-- sorry" self-deprecation that I dislike. Also, outside of "Due
South", Paul hasn't been very good at comedy; he overplays the jokes.
If you act like you think you're funny, then it's bad comedy, and Paul
usually acts like he thinks he's funny. So, without having seen the
movie, it looks as if, at best, it's mild and non-threatening, and, at
worst, it's a little too archly aware that it's trying to be funny while
telling jokes that really aren't very funny.

I didn't bother mentioning the videos because Jian Ghomeshi said it
takes a couple of months to get them posted (unless he was joking),
and it also sounded like only the first guests (the musical group
before Trillin and Gross) were being filmed from that day's show.
I hope both of those statements are wrong and PG's interview does
show up at some point.
