From a Vancouver Sun article:

The CBC's winter season specials will include Sunshine Sketches of a
Little Town, a made-for-TV movie based on the Stephen Leacock book of
the same name and starring an ensemble cast that includes Jill
Hennessey, Ron James, Sean Cullen, Leah Pinsent and Gordon Pinsent;
and The Wrath of Grapes: Keep Your Head Up, Kid ^W Part 2, the sequel
to the broadcaster's biopic of Don Cherry that aired last winter.

I like the cast. Stephen Leacock was sort of Canada's Mark Twain, but
without all the anger and cynicism. I find Leacock's humour to be often
tepid, but maybe that cast can liven it up.

I didn't watch the first movie, because I don't follow any sport,
including hockey, and Cherry, although colourful, can be quite an ass.
I guess being an ass would actually make for a lively biography, but I
just find myself not caring.

Oh, well, the Leacock movie will likely be good.

I may be one of the few people within a hundred miles of Wichita, Kansas,
who has ever heard of Stephen Leacock, much less bought a couple of his
books in a used bookstore - which I have. Sounds interesting.

My, it's been a long time since I've posted here. Hi, folks.

Hi, Paul!

I guess, like me, you don't have access to DS anymore (I assume
it's still airing in Canada), but are just hanging in here for
the heck of it. :-)

True. DS hasn't been on the TV here in the States for a looong time. But I
have fond memories of the bygone days in this group, which is why I still
subscribe. Posting here infected me with the writiing bug, for which I'm
thankful.

Ah, the fan fiction. I haven't written any DS fanfic in a long time. I had
ideas, but the stories never got written.

However... I did use some of those ideas for stories involving other
characters. You'll remember these guys, I'm sure.

These would originally involved Constable Fraser and Ray Kowalski. The fan
fiction that never was.

Yes, I'm blowing my own horn.
